Miraidon ex appears in the Scarlet and Violet Base Set as a Double Rare Pokémon card, offering collectors a premium EX foil treatment that enhances binder pages, legendary displays and full set builds. The EX holo pattern applies layered shine and textured foil across the artwork, creating a dramatic contrast that highlights Miraidon’s futuristic design, neon‑charged energy effects and clean SV‑era formatting. As one of the flagship legendaries of the Paldea region, Miraidon ex is one of the most desirable Double Rares in the entire Base Set, making it a priority pull for collectors who focus on early‑era Scarlet and Violet EX cards or complete Base Set Double Rare pages.

Miraidon ex is a legendary Pokémon with extremely high collector demand due to its role in Pokémon Violet and its connection to the Paradox storyline. The SV‑era formatting includes updated weakness icons, streamlined retreat symbols and consistent rules box styling, ensuring Miraidon ex aligns perfectly with Illustration Rares, Ultra Rares and other EX cards throughout the expansion. Because EX cards share the same gameplay text regardless of foil variant, Miraidon ex is fully playable in any deck that can run the regular version. Players who enjoy visually upgraded decks or competitive builds often choose EX cards to enhance the look of their lists, especially when building Electric‑type strategies or legendary‑focused decks.

In competitive play, Miraidon ex functions as a high‑pressure attacker and engine piece within the Scarlet and Violet format, enabling explosive early‑game setups and strong Electric‑type synergy. Its abilities and attacks often support aggressive tempo strategies, allowing players to accelerate energy, maintain board presence and apply continuous pressure. Although the metagame shifts over time, Miraidon ex has consistently been one of the most influential EX cards in the early Scarlet and Violet era. Because the Double Rare EX version is identical in gameplay to the standard EX print, competitive players who prefer premium aesthetics often choose the Double Rare variant to maintain visual cohesion without sacrificing functionality.

The artwork for Miraidon ex in the Scarlet and Violet Base Set is illustrated by PLANETA Yamashita, whose dynamic posing, sharp outlines and dramatic lighting are widely collected across modern Pokémon TCG expansions. Yamashita’s work is frequently sought after by collectors who follow specific artists, and Miraidon ex is often included in artist‑focused binder pages and legendary‑themed collections.

The Double Rare EX treatment in Scarlet and Violet uses layered holo textures and reflective foil across the artwork, creating a premium finish that enhances Miraidon’s color palette and electric energy effects. Collectors who build full Base Set Double Rare pages often target Miraidon ex as one of the most important Electric‑type EX cards in the expansion.
